The Night Sky

Oh, hello! Haven't been here for a while because life has been busy, quite tedious and fast paced at the same time. I just thought I'd post this one here since most of social media messed up the photo quality of these already-very-grainy photos. I love them anyhow, hope you like them too! I'm so excited to learn more about how to take photos of the stars but I have to stop obsessing!

Time Capsule in Reverse

If I could meet my younger self, I would have a lot to say. Not because I have so many regrets and resentments, but because there is just so much to tell.

1.     DO NOT KEEP YOURSELF IN A BOX, THE WORLD IS VAST AND BEAUTIFUL.
It is only waiting for you to discover it.

Sad Truth

Here is a truth that we must always remember:

The world does not revolve around us.

Yes, there are times when we all feel clingy and in need of time and attention, but that is no reason for us to cross the line to the dark demanding side.

Often times, we lash out on loved ones for not spending time with us. If they still don't take a hint, we give our partners some kind of ultimatum, we scold our children, we stop talking to our good friends. You end up feeling unappreciated and rejected, tired of asking for attention and love. You sink into an abyss of sadness and drown in your pool of lonely thoughts.

Before Spring Goes Into Hiatus

Back to a few months ago when spring awoke.

Autumn

When the marks of your breathing kiss the glass windows, that's when you know fall has arrived. It is, once again, the season of dark mornings, darker evenings, pounding headaches and unbearable flu. Oh, excuse me. It's the season of rust-coloured trees whatnots.

Never The Same Wave Twice

Never take anything for granted, thinking that the very same waves will wash the shore again, over and over. It never will, for the same waves never kisses its soil twice. When it has gone, you have missed it.

Our Favourite Spot

Grab your blankets, pack up a light lunch, bring your picnic basket, and we will take you to our favourite spot!

We spent a few of our summer days going to this lovely place by the water. Every Friday, they would have a band play in the park, and people would just come sitting down with their chairs and blankets, ready for the music and the summer breeze. The place is located in a bay beside a small town, the kind where everybody knows everybody. Everything you need is just a few steps away from each other's stores, and the people are laid back. mind you, they politely do not welcome skateboarders in their park.

The day these photos were taken, the band that was playing was paying tribute to The Beatles. Everybody just sat in the grass and enjoyed the 'here and now'. Most of the oldies went up to dance the afternoon away, while the younger ones swayed and danced along in their seats. People would smile at each other whether they were strangers or not.

This is my kind of thing, no hardcore parties and wasted girls in their skimpy skirts (if there is any). Again, I am not a hater, I just love me some laid back lifestyle. It's quite a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. My husband really, really love this place. We're looking forward to come back next summer and do a bit of water activity. Cold water activity.

I

At Stanley Park's Rose Garden. Sorry, I was never one to really pose for the camera. Selfies, yes; but other people taking my photo other than my husband, awkward.

Fall 2014

One of the days where we took a walk and drowned ourselves in the crisp colours of autumn in Stanley Park.

Lights | Little Machines

Last November 19th, my husband surprised me with tickets to the Lights concert in Vogue Theater. We've been listening to her music for years, and it's been sort of our thing. Her music is truly amazing and powerful, the type that gives you a sense of calmness and elation at the same time. It was a different feel having seen her take over the stage --- made us even more enamoured with her prowess.

She was unbelievably humble and --- get this --- when she was a little girl, little Valerie Anne Poxleitner spent part of her childhood in our home country, the Philippines! Lights has been raising funds for the World Vision typhoon Haiyan relief operation in our country, which I think makes her the best.

What's more amazing is that we were among the 50 people to purchase her Little Machines Vinyl Album and got to meet her in person. We were so stoked we got to chat with her and had our vinyls, tickets, and a shirt signed. Also, a hug to end the night with.

I love all of her songs but the most appealing to me in her latest release are Muscle Memory, Running With The Boys, and Up We Go. If you have not listened to her album or her music yet, please take time to do so. You won't regret it!

Cheers!

North Vancouver

This is a throwback --- from when my workplace was in North Vancouver. I love North Vancouver so much because it made me appreciate the mountains more. I've always loved the beach when I was back home in the Philippines, but not the mountains. I miss working there, and I miss the people I was with! The bus rides might be exhausting but the view is worth it.

North Van!

I remember looking out the window and seeing either bright warm sunshine, a garden with slowly growing wildflowers, or the ocean wrapped up in fog. I have always wondered how it would feel to be in one of the boats at sea when the fog was so thick. Not so lovely, I bet. Whatever welcomes my eyesight outside the window, I was always in awe. Not just of the view, but by the Creator, the painter, and maker of everything that I see.

God is so awesome.

Such Great Heights

Last Sunday, May 11th, my husband and I celebrated our second year of being tmarried. He surprised me with lovely gifts and stargazers when I woke up and topped it up with fine dining at the end of the night in a restaurant with an infinite view called Top Of Vancouver. We began ordering the entrée but I couldn't help my hands from take shots of the city and the tower revolved to give a better, panoramic view.

A mix of the old and the new.

That's how I see it, that's what Vancouver is. Vintage and New Age all at the same time. I could stay there all day, all week and just let my eyes travel as the restaurant orbits in place. If not for the fine price, I would. Don't get me wrong, it was worth it. Their Mascarpone Cheesecake was absolutely amazing, albeit pricey. I wish they'd have served it before the actual meal as our stomachs were already about to be swallowed by its own bottomless pit.

What better way to end our night than spend it talking over wine. Well my husband had wine, and I had hard lemonade. Naive as I can get, I browsed the menu for a non-alcoholic drink because I was not a fan of wine. I had hard lemonade, only to realize that it did contain Vodka as well. We've been so busy lately that we hardly have time to unwind and just talk and talk for hours. It's refreshing and romantic.

It was a good day, both laid back and extreme, definitely topped my list. Oh, and I forgot to mention that one item on my bucket list is crossed out during our anniversary. I am truly blessed. I'll always be the lucky one.

One For The Sack

Voila! I'm about done with revamping my blog. I don't have much people to talk to here so I might as well share my stuff here. Facebook is overrated -- I know everyone will agree. So I guess this is me signing off! I have a test to take tomorrow and here I am tweaking virtual whatnots. I'm out -- husband's going to freak when he finds out I'm not in bed yet! Have a good night world wide web.  Meanwhile here is my view of Van City at night.
