Grass Stained Knees

Went to Victoria, B.C. for the long weekend. We didn't have much time to spend last week so we took time off to go a short trip. I've always loved being on the road at work, sans the high heels and casual skirts for my uniform.

Anyhow, we spent our first day in Victoria swimming and eating (we had lunch at Denny's, ha!), but most of our day was spent walking (which I liked a lot). Me and Benjo walked along Holland Point Trail, took photos of each other, and climbed the rocks and steep path walks, eventually leading us to a bench near the cliff. It was a little cold but the view was stunning --- roaring waves, the noisy sea breeze, itchy green grass and of course, flowers. I was quality time well spent, I must say. And mind you, we do take our selfies seriously. Kidding aside, we have always loved capturing each other's moments. He's the only person I'm comfortable with to take photos of me, I don't find it awkward when he asks me to pose. Also, we know each other's moves and angles so well we're sure we'll always capture each other's good shots.  I think our  dynamics is getting smoother and more natural.

Anyway,we got hungry after all the climbing, snaps, and stills so we decided to walk back downtown. We were supposed to have dinner at Blue Fox Cafe unfortunately it was closed. So we walked some more until we reached Brio Cafe and fine dined with our grass stained knees and clothes. It was definitely good food, sort of for the classy (or the willing-to-spend) Victoria populace. Benjo had the Still Meadows Pork Farm Feature and I had Grilled Rare Albacore Tuna. Note that I had to google Brio Cafe's menu to get these.

After dinner we burned some calories by walking to the bus stop, until we decided to just walk home. It was kind of far but refreshing. Passed by a couple of cops shoving a man into the car, ahhh finally something familiar. We reached our hotel around 11 P.M.

Such Great Heights

Last Sunday, May 11th, my husband and I celebrated our second year of being tmarried. He surprised me with lovely gifts and stargazers when I woke up and topped it up with fine dining at the end of the night in a restaurant with an infinite view called Top Of Vancouver. We began ordering the entrée but I couldn't help my hands from take shots of the city and the tower revolved to give a better, panoramic view.

A mix of the old and the new.

That's how I see it, that's what Vancouver is. Vintage and New Age all at the same time. I could stay there all day, all week and just let my eyes travel as the restaurant orbits in place. If not for the fine price, I would. Don't get me wrong, it was worth it. Their Mascarpone Cheesecake was absolutely amazing, albeit pricey. I wish they'd have served it before the actual meal as our stomachs were already about to be swallowed by its own bottomless pit.

What better way to end our night than spend it talking over wine. Well my husband had wine, and I had hard lemonade. Naive as I can get, I browsed the menu for a non-alcoholic drink because I was not a fan of wine. I had hard lemonade, only to realize that it did contain Vodka as well. We've been so busy lately that we hardly have time to unwind and just talk and talk for hours. It's refreshing and romantic.

It was a good day, both laid back and extreme, definitely topped my list. Oh, and I forgot to mention that one item on my bucket list is crossed out during our anniversary. I am truly blessed. I'll always be the lucky one.

One For The Sack

Voila! I'm about done with revamping my blog. I don't have much people to talk to here so I might as well share my stuff here. Facebook is overrated -- I know everyone will agree. So I guess this is me signing off! I have a test to take tomorrow and here I am tweaking virtual whatnots. I'm out -- husband's going to freak when he finds out I'm not in bed yet! Have a good night world wide web.  Meanwhile here is my view of Van City at night.

Panorama I

I fell in love with the island of Agho. The sunset was surreal, almost like you are stuck inside a movie. Couldn't help but take photos of the same places at different times of the day. It fuelled my undying affinity for the beach and the sound of the waves. Things are simpler and more beautiful once apart from the wonders of modern technology. Everybody seems to forget how lovely life once was when we had more of nature. This is proof.
